The West Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department has put together this historical bike tour highlighting locations that are part of West Des Moines history. Along the 8 mile loop route, you will learn interesting historical tidbits about the Jordan House, the Red Caboose in Valley Junction, Raccoon River Park, and nine other unique locations. Start at any of the twelve locations, and ride at your own pace. Make a day of it by taking time to further explore each location. The route uses both on-street bike facilities and off-street trails. Users uncomfortable with riding on the street are encouraged to use the adjacent sidewalk. Please remember to follow all traffic signs and use caution no matter where you are riding.
