Trout Run Trail completed its final addition to the trail with a new bridge over Highway 9. The new bridge includes seasonally changing LED lights. In addition to biking, walking, running, and cross-country skiing opportunities, the trail provides safe, non-motorized access to trout streams, the Upper Iowa River, and local parks, campgrounds, and businesses. Users might also choose to stop at the Decorah Fish Hatchery, one of only three trout hatcheries in Iowa and home to Siewer Springs, the second largest natural spring in Iowa. The trail has numerous access points and parking areas, including at Wold Park, Trout Run Park, Will Baker Park, the Decorah Fish Hatchery, and near the 5th Avenue Bridge."

loved this trail! we rode the trail in mid September, before the trees started turning for fall. the trail does have at least 3 challenging hills. we are novice bikers, and so we simply walked the bikes up those hills. the trail is absolutely well maintained and has dozens of benches to stop and rest along the way. beautiful views, with a wide variety of birds, including eagles.

Beautiful trail but don't let the easy rating fool you. There's some tough hills to get up so be prepared to sweat. But it's worth it for the view.
