"The Kolonieweg (Colony Way) Trail connects Amana and Middle Amana, circles Lily Lake and provides access to many favorite tourist destinations in the Amana Colonies. Fun to bike or walk, the trail offers views of Amana waterways, the Lily Lake and colony farmland. Another 20 miles of bike routes are marked on area roads. The Amana Colonies Recreational Trail Kolonieweg was built in 1998 with funds raised by Amana Colonies Trails, Inc., a nonprofit group working in cooperation with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and the Amana Society, Inc. In addition, major public grant funding was received from the Iowa Department of Transportation."
